Bio: I was born in Alhambra, California and was raised in El Monte. After attending two public schools I was enrolled in First Luthern of El Monte and promptly beame a Luthern.
At El Monte High School I majored in journalism, dropped out of religion and dreamt of becoming a writer. Upon graduation I joined the navy, mainly to avoid being drafted into the army. I thought our invasion of Vietnam was criminal and I think history has not contradicted me.
I served aboard the USS George Bancroft, a truely terrifying instrument of destruction, I'm sorry to say; but I met a bunch of wonderful guys there. I think of them often and wonder how they are.
Back as a civillian I went to college and manged to earn a degree in philosophy from Cal State University, Los Angeles. Some years later I went back to earn a masters degree in English.
Since 1981 I have worked in Alhambra and Sierra Madre teaching developmentally disabled adults. My wife, whom I married in 2002, is a marriage and family therapist specializing in eating disorders. We have a dog and three cats.
